Our History

September 15, 1972 Allen Crane, with the support of his parents “Ma” & “Pa” Crane, had a passion for people and expertise in hardware with a desire to help people. He realized the growing need for GOOD quality service and products in Jonesboro and he did….something about it. 

Today, Crane Hardware boasts of being the primary provider of hardware needs for large companies, government agencies, small contractors and home owners. While all of the Cranes are now living life eternal, our owners are as close to family as Allen had left and still run the store on his behalf. 

We believe in supporting of community and fellow local businesses, just like Allen did in 1972. In fact, we carry a range of products hand-made right here in Jonesboro from artisan soaps to local honey (pure raw honey). We are proud to be an Echo Equipment, Toro, and Case & Son Knives dealer, and if we do not have what you need, we have a great recommendation on where you can get it! 

Like Allen in 1972, we continue to be a people-company focused on helping YOU get exactly what you need, without the fluff, hype, mega sales flyers, or  technology-provided customer service. In fact, we are a family at Crane Hardware and it is not unusual to see children, dogs, or friends running around the store at any given time. It was not unusual for people to stop to ask for directions, and nearby recommendations, and today that still remains the same.
